About Me…

I classify myself as a working class, blue-collar actress. Really, I’ve always been a dichotomy of things. As is the growing list of roles I’ve played; hookers, strippers, bible thumpers, mommies & monster slayers.

In my spare time I tinker with a few other things:

Auto mechanic on my Biodiesel Benz. Driveway tool-time girl with a few curse words growled. My mechanic (who I love & thank for trying) mixed up the lines and now refuses to work on it.  I trust no other – so it’s me. Or maybe it’s because I’m broke.  Depends what I’ve booked this month.

A garden that has been in the west-side garden show 3 years now. Pick axes, chain saws, weed whackers and the odd jigsaw are heavily involved in my gardening process.  It’s how I get to my Zen state. That, and I like to use a lot of horse shit from the LA Equestrian Center.

Cook since age 6 or 7, if you count the little bowls of sugar, butter & flour I used to secretly mix up and eat before dinner. Our neighbors were German locavores, so I watched the churning of butter, bread making and canning (pickled chicken feet?). My first job at 15 yrs old was in the army camp kitchen. I went on to every facet of the food industry (remember; actress?).  I love to eat, love my cooking  and I hate cleaning up. Two out of  three ain’t bad?  Always the O.C.D.- health freak about eating right (addressed shortly after my butter, sugar, white flour addiction). I’ve compiled my favorite foods over the years into the healthiest recipes possible while still tasting like the reason I fell in love to begin with, i.e. chocolate chip cookies made with hemp oil? You get the drift? I’m writing that cook book now. Involved again are power tools, rasps and a meat hanger that dangles over my O’Keefe & Merritt. If you’re using the drill anyways, why not throw a mixer blade in the chuck?

Art has always been part of my life. Painting, photography, arts and crafts. I’m a mean sewer. I blur boundaries all the time; always discovering, experimenting. Anything to be original. Necessity is the mother of invention and the cute little girlie red, Milwalkee mini they put out this year is never far away. A close second is my dremel. I use it for feet pedicures for me and my dog. Greatest little power tool a girl could ever have at her side!

Jesus was a carpenter. So am I. My father built homes growing up, I was given chores and treated like a boy. Thanks Dad! I usually have a power tool on the kitchen counter because I”m always building or fixing something. When you own a home – it’s either that or go broke paying others to do it wrong. I’ve done it wrong plenty times enough to learn.

Anarchist. It’s how I choose to believe in life. How I go about doing it, living it, just being. Blaze that trail.

Originality has always been important to me. So is NOT keeping up with the Kardashians.

Love a girl with power tools. I have them too and a dremel for little doggie feet and mine. Must run in the family! Go Girl!
